This is a piece I've made for my mini solo exhibition, titled "Damsel in Distress". Here's the press release:
This show, entitled "Damsel In Distress", is a series of visual imagery, a modern twist on the old-time classic fairy tales that we are all familiar with. You will see Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and many others, in the context of today's realistic modern world,
facing the same old issues brought into a somewhat darker vision..
This exhibition's purpose is to raise awareness about violence against women, in the form of the issues faced by fairy tale characters in a real-world context; women's rights, gender inequality and abuse, in an effort to show our local community that it DOES happen around us, and we can do something about it, even if it's just changing our mindsets.
The artworks are for sale, and part of the proceedings were donated to a foundation that deals with VAW.

That is an interesting piece, I find original the fact that you did not use any red in your picture for the Red Riding Hood. It is like the man who wants to take her does not think about this girl as a person, but as a booty of hunting. I read your answer to wondermanrules, and it strengthen my idea that she is just the image of the hymen the man will break by taking her. He just see her as a piece of meat he wants to tear appart, because of his "wolf instinct".
She looks scared, we can see it by the way she is protectively wrapping her arms around around herself, to cover her breast and the look in her eyes. That is another touching picture.
